Back in the beginning of 2015, 2 Chainz briefly considered a run for mayor in College Park, Georgia. The topic arose following an argument with Nancy Grace over the legalization of marijuana in which 2 Chainz obviously took the pro-weed side, a stance agreed upon by fellow Southern rapper Killer Mike, who wrote an op-ed for Rolling Stone that detailed how a marijuana industry could do wonders for America’s unemployed, former convicts, and race relations in general.
Stopping by The Daily Show, 2 Chainz spoke with Trevor Noah about his new Viceland show “Most Expensivest,” a series in which 2 Chainz and guests “uncover all of the extravagant ways the 1% enjoys” spending their money. He also spoke on the old rumors around his mayoral campaign, saying that if were to ever run, he “may legalize marijuana” and “would also deal with funding a lot of the county programs, sports programs, and things like that,” because “a lot of kids don’t come outside anymore. A lot of them either play video games or are on their phones.”
I don’t know about his ability to be a mayor, but I do like supporting education and after-school programs. Watch the full interview here.
