One of the biggest surprise releases of the end of 2016 was definitely Jeremih and Chance the Rapper’s Christmas album. Titled Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama, the record is very cute, playful, and a nice end to the year.
There’s nothing absolutely amazing here, except for a random Hannibal Burress outro, but it’s the most I’ve ever enjoyed Jeremih. It doesn’t compare to the best Christmas release of 2016, R. Kelly’s 12 Nights of Christmas, but it’s a welcome addition. I’m more impressed that the two got together to record nine Christmas tracks. I mean, making Christmas sound dope is pretty hard, and there a couple moments where it’s just a bit too cheesy. As of now though, Chance can do no wrong in my mind.
