Thanks to the Griselda crew of Benny the Butcher, Westside Gunn, and Conway the Machine, Buffalo has emerged recently as the last torch holder of old school New York rap. Che Noir, one of Buffalo’s most promising pupils, had been rapping for over a decade before she received a call from Apollo Brown, the legendary producer who has held a torch oh his own for Detroit, ever since the passing of J Dilla in 2006.

Collaborating on As God Intended, Che effortlessly spits alongside Black Thought on “Hustle Don’t Give,” and glides over beats sampling Nikki D’s lost-in-time hit “Daddy’s Little Girl.”
