October has been a crazy month, let alone a crazy year, but that doesn’t mean the world stops turning and music stops rolling out. It was still a great month for rap releases with Anderson .Paak and Kendrick Lamar’s “Tints,” T.I.’s Dime Trap, Cardi B’s “Money,” Leikeli47’s Pick a Color – EP, Tyler, the Creator’s Grinch single, Mick Jenkins’ Pieces of a Man, and Jeremih & Ty Dolla $ign’s record as a duo, MihTy, but the undisputed best rap of October was Open Mike Eagle on “Microfiche,” from his new EP, What Happens When I Try to Relax.
Speaking on issues regarding the NFL, physical insecurities, and the never-ending string of stressful news, Open Mike Eagle suggests that while it’s easy to close your eyes and take a break from it all, some issues such as police brutality and racism can’t be ignored, and they happen whether you’re paying attention to it or not.
